Schools of Light is a children’s education charity that empowers schools in developing nations to be a bright, strong, ray of light in their community.

We believe in the transformative power of education to help break the cycle of poverty. We work with local partners and school communities in developing nations to provide support in the form of infrastructure, and student and teacher resources.

Across the world over 250 million children do not have proper access to education. Schools in developing nations often lack the basic resources and infrastructure needed. We want to provide support to these schools so that children can have safe spaces to be educated and begin their bright futures.

Current Projects

School Library, the Philippines

We are partnering with Guadalupe Elementary School in Cebu to relocate and resource their library. The school has approx. 5,000 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, but their current tiny library cannot accommodate such a large number of students. It is poorly ventilated, has inadequate furniture and has a floor surface riddled with termite damage. The new library is a game-changer for literacy as it will give students easy access to books and learning resources, and provide an opportunity to further their literacy program. Recent Projects

Block Classroom, Indonesia

We have built a sustainable classroom, in partnership with Classroom of Hope, in Lombok Indonesia! The classroom is built from recycled plastic waste and is earthquake resistant, providing a safe and motivating learning environment.
Back-to-school packs, the Philippines

We have supplied over 350 back-to-school packs for children in the Philippines. Each pack is full of goodies like books and stationery.
